Carl Zeiss Jena Dodecarem/Nobilem 12X50B binoculars in hard leather case
Carl Zeiss Jena Dodecarem (or Nobilem) 12X50B binoculars made in Germany (East) in the late 1980's (as far as I remember, by the serial number which seems to date it before the reunification). The markings on the right side are gone but this is the Dodecarem (later Nobilem, especially after Docter bought the company) and not the Octarem (8X50B). Not to be confused with the older Nobilem Spezial 12X50B which was shorter and fatter. Less pincushion distortion than the Nobilem Spezial a pinch of it is desirable for panning and general observation but not the best when on a tripod and looking at stars etc.

Some mild use marks as seen; the objectives would have had rubber o-rings in the circular grooves to cushion and protect the binocular when set down on the objectives, but they are no longer there. Good collimation and almost perfect prisms, far from the point when they would need to be cleaned. There is no shoulder strap with the leather case but there are belt loops added to the back as shown.
