This is a military binoculars. (with IR filter - it s condition is unknown). Made in 1977 for Romanian Army by IOR (which later was known as VALDADA). IOR Valdada factory has been making quality optics since the mid 1930s. Using Carl Zeiss glass, IOR supplied military grade optics throughout the Cold War era to Eastern Europe Military.

IOR 7x40 binoculars has a body made of steel and a heavy rubber armor covering. The lenses have an anti-reflex multi-coat which provides high percentage light transmission. The bright image appears to be slightly yellow-amber. This provides good contrast for normal lighting and cuts down on eyestrain when viewing in bright conditions.

These binoculars has BaK4 Porro prisms. The binoculars is waterproof and nitrogen filled to avoid fogging (internally). The features of the binoculars. Objective lens diameter: 40 mm. Field of view: 146 m.

Reticle (only on the right tube) - slightly inclined. 2 additional yellow / orange lens - filter are provided (see pictures). The binoculars is collector's item. It was in storage for a long time.

It comes with a photocopied manual in Romanian language.
